The present everyone helped write
Christmas gifts pile up and are forgotten by spring. This one is made of the family's own words. A photo becomes a portrait made of letters, and a note from each person is hidden in between: a memory from this year, a wish for the next one, a thank-you.
How it works
- Choose a photo. A family photo, or a portrait of the person you're giving it to.
- Collect the notes. Share one link in the family chat, or start from the ready-made notes in the editor.
- The notes are hidden in the portrait. Each sentence runs on among the letters.
- Print and paint. As the marked squares are painted, the portrait appears.
Design a Christmas portrait
Paint it together over the holidays
Spread the print out on the table between Christmas and New Year and let everyone paint a few squares. The portrait appears slowly, the notes are found one by one, and the holidays end with something on the wall that everyone made.
What to write
- The best moment of the year
- A wish for next year
- A thank-you to the person receiving it
- A family tradition you never want to lose
